The Nebraska Attorney General’s Office put Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremations on a two-year probation last week for 15 separate violations.
In May 2025, the funeral home illegally cremated the remains of three unclaimed bodies as part of a training exercise. It was operating without a license when the cremations were carried out and did not have any of the required cremation authorizations or permits.
The attorney general filed a petition for disciplinary action against the business on June 6, issuing fines totaling $7,500. The funeral home will continue to operate but must be supervised by a licensed funeral director and embalmer for two years.
