The Omaha Planning Board approved a city proposal on Jan. 5 designating Rosenblatt Stadium as a surplus property, paving the way for the purchase of the stadium later this spring by the Henry Doorly Zoo. The stadium and 35-acre plot will be sold for $12 million. Zoo officials have yet to finalize a plan for the property, but say an additional $3 million must be raised to cover the cost of demolition.
