* The Mitch Gettman Band will release their new album We Are The Mad Ones online Monday, September 26th via iTunes, Bandcamp.com and the band’s website, mitchgettman.com. On Bandcamp, users will be able to stream the release prior to buying. The band is also releasing “Inherent Blues” off the new album on its website in advance. A video for the track is in the works. CD copies of the release will be available by December 16th, when Gettman and his bandmates play a release show Friday, December 16th at the Slowdown, 729 North 14th St. The band will be joined by Chicago-based Talking Heads tribute act This Must Be the Band.

* Darren Keen is preparing the release of his second Touch People LP, Show Me Your Dimensions, due in October on Illegal Art, which is the home to Girl Talk. Keen, who is also the sole man behind behind Bad Speler and the long-running The Show Is The Rainbow, introduced one track on the album, “Depth of Width (Part I)” on rcrdlbl.com last week.

* Tara Vaughan and Edge of Arbor’s Jessica Errett hope to raise some tour funds at a Monday, September 12th show at the Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St. The two have booked their own early fall tour and hope to increase their comfort with a little extra cash. In addition to the concert, there will be a raffle of several items donated by other local musicians. Other items will be sold at silent auction. Among the things for sale will be a four-course dinner for six prepared by Rock Paper Dynamite‘s Scott Zrust.
