Nosferatu

As part of its Silents in Concert series, Film Streams will screen F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent vampire film, Nosferatu. The German horror film stars Max Shrek as Count Orlok.

“Others” will provide the live soundtrack for the film. The group is comprised of musicians Todd Fink, Orenda Fink and Ben Brodin. The three created the group specifically to provide live music for The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari in 2008 at Film Streams.

Film Streams’ Director Rachel Jacobson said the series challenges the musicians to work within specific constraints and create something interesting. She says having live musicians provide the film’s soundtrack may motivate people who might not be interested in silent film to check it out.
