Bridge on the River Kwai

You may not recognize the movie but will likely recognize the famous whistling of the Colonel Bogey March. Set in WWII, the film centers on a group of British POW’s who work to construct a bridge for their Japanese captors. Film Historian Bruce Crawford will present a digitally restored print of David Lean’s masterpiece The Bridge on the River Kwai at the Joslyn Art Museum next month.

Star William Holden’s daughter Virginia is the special guest for the evening. She will be autographing copies of her new book, Growing up with William Holden. Holden will also speak prior to the film.

Proceeds benefit the Nebraska Kidney Association.
