Sponsored by Omahype, We Are Omaha Art Show is a year in planning by Leslie Wells and Calvin Smothers coming to fruition. Twenty-six visual artists had a few months to create a piece inspired by their hometown of Omaha to be exhibited including Caleb Coppock, Watie White, Dave Koenig, Daphne Eck, Josh Powell, Megan Loudon Sanders and many more. New this year, Instagram has been making headway into showcasing the beautiful places, people and things here in Omaha. A number of Instagram”ers” will have their work for sale too including curator Smothers. Other work includes refurbished old axe heads into art by the Fontenelle Axe Restoration crew. Live music by local bands: Families, All Young Girls Are Machine Guns, Skypiper, Anniversaire and OPR as well as food and drinks donated by Aromas and Bliss Bakery will make this outing a super-Omaha-fun time.
