Adjectives like “maverick” and “country traditionalist” are used to describe the fiercely independent Dale Watson, a 20-year veteran of the roots music scene. Watson has most recently been a part of the Atlanta cast for the world premiere of the stage musical The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County written by Stephen King & John Mellencamp. Watson’s roots are deep in honky-tonk music and the Bakersfield sound and he was part of Los Angeles’ famous Palomino Club’s house band. Watson is an Austin Music Hall of Fame inductee and was the subject of a 2006 documentary film, Crazy Again. His most recent release is The Sun Sessions.
