The Omaha Farmers Market is putting Omaha on the map by being nationally recognized as the 6th best farmers market in the nation according to the Daily Meal, a culinary website. Factors that were considered in this award were the number and variety of local products offered, public and social media feedback, other awards received and how often the market is open. Other markets taking the top 5 spots were Pike Place Farmers Market in Seattle in first place, and Des Moines, Chicago’s Green City, Phoenix and then St. Paul.
Omaha Restaurant Week is returning and runs September 13th through September 22nd. This is a ten-day extravaganza of the Omaha food scene. Restaurants choosing to participate will offer a prix fix menu for $20, $30 or $40 not including tax and gratuity.
