Popping Up Like a Weed

The Market House and Over Easy darling Nick Bartholomew has been a busy man this year, between the re-rebuild of The Market House, his second Over Easy location at Aksarben, and working to open his Dundee venture this Summer, a mere mortal would have no time to invent new ways to dazzle us. Thankfully, Bartholomew takes no comfort in having already made his mark on Omaha and has taken on a new challenge in collaboration with SecretPenguin and The Greater Omaha Chamber courtyard. A standing pop-up called Dandelion will feature a revolving door of chefs being given the opportunity to show area diners what they’ve got up their sleeves. A culinary “muscle beach” where some of Omaha’s top talent get to flex some serious chefly muscles, experimenting with concepts and fusions before committing to a full brick and mortar. This innovative concept will be a food adventure for anyone who heads to http://secretpenguin.com/2016/07/pop-up-restaurant-in-the-chambers-courtyard/ to sign up to receive a schedule of participating chefs.

Stand and Dell-iver

The Dundee Dell changed hands Wednesday, June 29. Pat Gobel owned the Dell for 27 years. He bought it from Neill Everitt, who had previously owned the Dell for 27 years. Among the changes are new carpet, updating the infrastructure and systems, more specials on the menu, and more seafood. What’s not changing is the staff, core menu, fish ‘n chips, and Scotch selection. Pat will stay on for a few months to help with the transition.
