Omaha will welcome back the Shadow Ridge Music Festival this year, with a lineup artists from the 1990s.

The event will be held Friday, Sept. 11 and will also serve as a community celebration honoring veterans.

Now entering its eighth year, Shadow Ridge Music Festival is Omaha’s longest-running consecutive annual independent music event.

The festival, which features rock and pop acts from the 1990s and 2000s, will include musical acts Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms, Spin Doctors and more. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 9 a.m. on March 6 at shadowridgemusicfestival.com.

Held on the scenic grounds of Shadow Ridge at 188th and Pacific streets, Shadow Ridge Music Festival is open to the public and draws fans from across Omaha, the Midwest and beyond.

A press release stated that organizers expect more than 5,000 people will attend, with a strong possibility of a sellout.

“Shadow Ridge Music Festival has always been about creating nostalgic moments that stick with you; great music, great people and a setting that feels special,” festival founder Justin Shanahan said in a press release. “Year after year, we’re intentional about delivering an experience that feels elevated while staying true to the community and memories that built this festival.”

This year’s festival coincides with the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, and will benefit the 50 Mile March Foundation Inc., a Nebraska-based nonprofit supporting Veterans facing PTSD and homelessness. A portion of ticket proceeds will support the foundation’s grant-making efforts for local veterans organizations and its long-term Community of Hope campus vision in Bellevue.

“We wanted to pay proper tribute to our veterans on this 25th anniversary of Sept. 11,” Shanahan said in the press release. “The 50 Mile March is doing impactful work in our community, and we’re honored to have them be our charity partner this year.”
