Refocus Omaha invites you to participate in a city-wide visual storytelling project that showcases unique perspectives from our diverse communities. The project, developed by Leadership Omaha’s class 43 in partnership with non-profit BFF Omaha, asks citizens to submit photos, with captions, that show their unique perspectives of the community.
Photographs will be chosen by their team and published on @refocusomaha Instagram page, culminating in a public exhibition and limited publication of a juried selection of photographs in June 2021. Published photographs will be chosen based on the following criteria: Originality & Creativity; Composition and Design; Unique Perspective/Story; Entertainment Value.
Submissions have already begun and are free and open to all ages. Participants are encouraged to submit via instagram.com/refocus Omaha.
The exhibition will be held at MaMO gallery during June 4th’s First Friday art walk, 6PM-9PM. The MaMO Gallery is BFF’s mobile gallery, located in a converted Mayflower trailer, and for this exhibit it will be located outside of the CityLight Arts Project at that time, at 56th & NW Radial Highway. Further information is available at www.bffomaha.org.
