- Douglas County health director retirement: Dr. Adi Pour will receive a Distinguished Citizen Award as well as recognition from the Douglas County Board of Commissioners and Mayor Jean Stothert during Tuesday’s board meeting. Pour has served as health director since 2002.
- Park rules: Laid over from the last meeting, the Omaha City Council will again vote on new park rules. Several citizens spoke at the June 15 meeting to oppose the new rules, arguing that city trails should be open for transportation at all times. The parks department is requesting that the City Council delay the vote again until the July 13 meeting.
- New TIF projects: Mastercraft LLC is seeking nearly $1.6 million in tax-increment financing to renovate a building and construct public green space at 1111 North 13th St. The City Council will also vote on over $3.5 million for a five-story, mixed-use building at 1819 Howard St. that would include 120-124 apartments and 20,000 square feet of first-floor commercial space.
- Chief of staff contract: The City Council will vote to approve the contract for Mayor Jean Stothert’s choice for chief of staff, former Omaha Police Chief Thomas Warren Sr. Warren will be paid $150,000 a year, along with a $100,000 pension from his time as police chief, something opponents have criticized as “double dipping.”
