We all know the fate that befell Romeo and Juliet, but director Franco Zeffirelli’s 1968 film just may be the best screen adaptation of the Bard’s classic tragedy. Costumes, colors and swordsmanship are all here, Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey play our star-crossed lovers, and Nino Rota provides the score.
