Brennan Appointment Gets Legal Scrutiny

On Dec. 22, Brennan was appointed by the City Council by a 5-2 vote to serve the remainder of Councilman Pahls’ term. The city’s legal department says there is no law prohibiting Pahls from voting for his successor who was to be sworn in Jan. 12.

A Bundled-Up Bike Ride
Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you have to put the bike away. Plenty of paths and roadways will be usable through the colder weather, just watch the forecast for snow and ice. If you’re hardcore, check out your local bike shop for bikes with all-terrain tires that can plow through snow, gravel and other surfaces. Keep your bike in winter shape with a tuneup, or maybe even purchase a new bike for winter conditions.
