As the COVID-19 vaccine rollout continues to move slower than expected nationwide, Nebraska wants its residents to prepare for their turn to take the shot.
People can go to the newly launched vaccine portal to fill out their name, address and some basic details that would place them in line to get immunized. Unless the registrant qualifies for immediate immunization, they will likely get a response saying they will be alerted when it’s their turn in line.
Right now the state is prioritizing high-risk communities like the elderly. The state is currently in Phase 1B which prioritizes those with high-risk medical conditions, first responders, utility workers, teachers and a variety of other occupations. This phase will likely last into March after which Phase 1C will start. Currently the general public is slated to start getting vaccines in May.
