Today we have stories about Omaha Metro Transit launching its MetroNext program, Facebook expanding its data center in Papillion, and U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer eyeing a run for Nebraska governor in 2022.
Around Omaha
- Omaha Metro Transit launches MetroNext program to get feedback from the public in online meetings. Metro’s chief executive says the community input will help determine services and lines in the future.
- Metropolitan Community College’s Fort Omaha campus will have a COVID-19 vaccine clinic starting April 1, offering 400 appointments Mondays through Thursdays.
- The Douglas County Health Department says it’s expanding eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to people 55 and older.
- The Facebook data center in Papillion is expanding again, adding 1 million square feet to its campus. The expansion will cost $400 million and add 100 jobs.
- The Douglas County Health Department reports 108 new cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths related to the virus.
- Omaha renters and landlords are frustrated with the slow rollout of the $22 million in rental assistance granted to Omaha.

Given most folks are still wondering, when will live music return to Omaha, this show is one of the most anticipated of the season – and the fact that it falls on 4/20 makes it all the sweeter. This is King Iso & the Group Therapy Tour’s Omaha date, and the results are liable to be electric.
There will be plenty of hometown talents – including King Iso himself. What’s more, The Group Therapy Tour consists of Omaha-based rappers Taebo Tha Truth and Snake Lucci, as well as Indiana’s C-Mob, while seasoned openers include Jay Influential, NEVES, Mumbles, and JBM Empire.
King Iso signed to Tech N9ne’s esteemed Strange Music label at the tail end of 2019, and released his debut album, World War Me, in February 2020. The album came out shortly before the pandemic – so, King Iso & friends are likely very excited to ring in those accomplishments with a stellar show.
