* Simon Joyner has teamed up with Dennis Callaci to release a collaborative LP New Secrets on Callaci’s label, Shrimper. The two first recorded together several years ago, releasing a one-sided vinyl LP Stranger Blues. They returned to Callaci’s home studio for this album, recording 11 songs that were produced and mixed by Woods’ member Jarvis Taveniere over the course of three days. Joyner’s current backing back the Ghosts play on the album as well. The album is out this June.

* Pleasure Adapter’s debut release will be a six-song cassette that’s now available to pre-order from Rainy Road Records. The synth-punk band recorded the tracks at Suitcase Studios’ Mark McGowan earlier this year. The cassette release will be limited to 100 hand-numbered cassettes. * Justin Timberlake will bring his 20/20 Experience World Tour to the CenturyLink Center, 455 North 10th St., Monday, February 10, 2014. The show currently caps off Timberlake’s extensive fall and winter schedule behind his latest, double-platinum album. While there’s been no on-sale date announced yet, expect this one to sell out almost immediately once tickets are available.

* Local hip hop duo Max Fischer and Downtown James Brown released their new EP, the Tape Over EP, earlier this month via the Austin-based Beats Broke Records. The release is available digitally through most major digital stores including iTunes. The duo will celebrate the EP with a release show Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 8 p.m at The Sydney, 5918 Maple St. Emcee Max Fischer’s last release was in 2003. * The Brownville Concert Series in Brownville, Neb. will host Broadway singer Eric Michael Gillett for a series of concerts Friday, May 31st through Sunday, June 2nd. * Flordia-based vinyl-only record label Certified PR Records will be compiling some of the last recorded Brimstone Howl material for a future release. While the label and the band haven’t decided final details on what will be released, just the idea that the band’s final songs will see the light of day is excitement enough. Let’s hope word on these releases surfaces soon.
