Artists Jennifer Homan and Hal Holoun combine to bring their inspired landscapes to Gallery 1516 current exhibit Nebraska Landscapes and the Big Sky.
Homan’s pastels seek to point out the beauty in the ordinary. The stunning focus she puts on the vast Nebraska sky re-centers our attention to the scenery that increasingly is taken over by human presence.

Holoun’s paintings attempt to balance the elemental forces of nature with a painterly tradition. The result has a spiritual quality that emerges from the completed work.
Together, the two artists pay tribute to the splendor of the Nebraska skyline using resonant color, intense contrast of light and charismatic composition.
Nebraska Landscapes and the Big Sky is on view at Gallery 1516, 1516 Leavenworth Street through August 26. For more information, visit gallery1516.org.
