Too Tired To Go On
We have loved following Chip and Christina Holland’s story from the first signs of construction at the former Perkins on 108th and L to the full-blown fandom of Tired Texan. It was with a great deal of heartache that we saw the couple fight their way back from Covid closures, and from a fire that upended the business in June of last year. While we will never stop rooting for this dynamic duo and their unique approach to barbeque, we’ll soon have to celebrate their establishment in memory alone. The pair announced Tired Texan’s impending closure via social media last week. The final day of service is slated to be Sunday, May 8th. We will keep our eyes on the Hollands and keep you posted about upcoming events or ventures this pair sets their talents on in the future.
A Real Casanova
If your charcuterie game needs an overhaul, Rockbrook’s newest neighbor has just the brie for your board. Casanova Butchery is now open at 10914 Elm street. The local shop features an extensive selection of meats, cheeses, and specialty gourmet sundries to spice up your parties and pantry. Stop by Monday through Saturday from 9am to 6pm, and Sundays from 9am to 3pm.
Piccolo Pete’s Packs it in
We were as hyped as the rest of the city when Piccolo Pete’s recently reopened in Papillion, but as the food gods giveth, so they taketh away. In a message on social media, owner Scott Sheehan announced the closure of both the new Papillion location and Pete’s Mobile Venue, the food truck where he served many of the establishment’s signature dishes. This has always been a family worth watching, and we will continue to keep our eyes peeled for future opportunities to support their ventures.
